Located in Kameoka City, Atago Shrine has been worshiped as a local guardian deity since ancient times. Supposedly the deity is believed to quell fire and ward off misfortune, and in turn bring safety and prosperity. It is also believed that if one pays homage to the shrine by the age of three, they will be free from fire for the rest of their life. The main shrine, which exudes a solemn atmosphere, stands majestically in the precincts of the shrine, welcoming visitors with its beautiful natural surroundings.
