A sustainable tour to experience the charms of the new Kyoto while being surrounded by the smiling faces of the local people in Kameoka, a city of great natural beauty.
This tour will explore the unique charms of Kameoka, an SDGs future city, through numerous sustainability-conscious sightseeing experiences while interacting with the local people.

Trolley Saga Station → Kameoka Station
23 minutes trolley travel

The Sagano Romantic Train offers spectacular views of the magnificent Hozu Valley and other spectacular scenery of Hozu in each season.
Open the train windows and enjoy the pleasant breeze as you travel from Arashiyama to the Kameoka area.
Kameoka, the terminal station, is a different world with a countryside landscape all around.

An eco-tourism experience where visitors rent bicycles from Kameoka Station. You will enjoy an exhilarating cycling tour with a view of the countryside. The tour will ride along the Hozu River and the peaceful countryside with no buildings around, while a guide will introduce you to spectacular viewpoints along the way.

Approx. 2 hour stay

Eco-craft experience at a stylish café renovated from an old private house. Participants will create their own eco-bag "HOZUBAG" by reusing paraglider materials. You can choose from a variety of colorful fabrics to make your own original eco-bag, which will be the only one of its kind in the world. For lunch, enjoy a special curry made with locally grown vegetables and fruits.

Experience harvesting pesticide-free vegetables at a natural farm that boasts a vast area of approximately 2.5 hectares of land.
Making chopsticks and plates for dinner at a workshop by a 70-year-old bamboo fence specialty store.
Then, dinner over a campfire with freshly harvested vegetables and Kameoka rice and meat, while listening to the chirping of insects.
The menu includes a peony hot pot using Kameoka deer and wild boar meat and a barbecue using Kameoka beef *Content subject to change depending on the season.

Namba soy sauce brewing
Approx. 1 hours 10 minutes stay

Experience authentic soy sauce production at a soy sauce brewery that has been in business for 150 years.
Tour the brewery, which is lined with precious and huge cedar wooden vats about 2 meters deep.
You will have a special opportunity to experience a part of the production process, mixing the soy sauce with the mash.
In addition, visitors will be able to compare the taste of authentic soy sauce and soy sauce without any additives or preservatives.

Compare six different kinds of sake made with rice from the company's own farmland, which is blessed with Kameoka's high-quality water source and soil, at a long-established sake brewery that has been in business for more than 140 years.

At the end of the tour, we toasted the conclusion of the two-day tour.
