A temple with a famous garden filled with tranquility and beauty

Hogonin Temple was built in the Muromachi period (1336-1573) and is the pagoda temple of Tenryuji Temple, famous for its beautiful garden with beautiful autumn leaves. The garden is a masterpiece with its borrowed scenery of Arashiyama and huge rocks such as “Shishi-iwa” (Lion Rock), and the beauty of each season attracts visitors. The beauty of the garden in each season fascinates visitors, especially during the season of autumn foliage, with its overwhelming beauty. The historical architecture and Buddhist statues are also unmissable attractions, and as a place where tranquility and beauty are in harmony, it brings peace of mind and spiritual refinement to many people.

The sliding door paintings in the main hall may not be available for viewing due to Buddhist memorial services, etc.
