The Hozukyo ravine carved out by the Hozugawa River is one of Kyoto's most famous natural wonders.Exit the station and you'll find yourself face-to-face with a footbridge (the Ukaibashi Bridge) crossing the ravine.Cross the Ukaibashi and follow the one-kilometer path to JR Hozukyo Station for a scenic hiking detour.Continue a little further and you'll arrive at the village of Mizuo, famous for its yuzu citrus fruit.

Kameoka Station is located in the town of Kameoka, known as the residence of Warring-States-era samurai Akechi Mitsuhide. The area thrived as a castle town at the foot of Kameyama Castle. The famous incident at Honno-ji Temple, where Oda Nobunaga was forced to commit suicide at the hands of Akechi Mitsuhide, was said to have started with Akechi's departure from Kameoka.
The town is full of fun activities and opportunities, such as the Yunohana onsen resort, rafting excursions, scenic carriage rides, and the Hozugawa River Boat Ride, where passengers can enjoy the ravine from the river.(Please refer to the external links below.)
